Introduction to Drawing Fundamentals

Class Description

Weeks 1–4 Drawing for Absolute Beginners Line control, 1–2 point perspective studies, still-life drawing
Weeks 5–8 Anatomy & Form Human figure studies, shading exercises, gesture drawing
Weeks 9–12 Composition & Rendering Develop one finished piece showing realistic shading and depth

 

  • Drawing Tools and Materials
    • Overview of drawing materials such as pencils, charcoal, and paper, and their characteristics
    • Activities: Exploration of different mark-making techniques and tonal values using basic drawing tools.
  • Drawing for Absolute Beginners
    • Learn the basics: lines, shapes, shading, composition.

    • Ideal for those who’ve never picked up a pencil before.

    • Duration: 4 weeks (2 hrs/week)

    • Outcome: Basic portrait sketch from a photo reference.
